Kate Nightingale will be speaking at the User Centred Design Conference on Friday 14th October.

The organiser of the conference, The User Centred Design Society is a not-for-profit organisation created to promote User Centred Design (UCD) as a community of practice. The User Centred Design Society is creating events that explore how User Centred Design is applied in a variety of disciplines and how they in turn benefit the quality and expertise of people in the UK and globally.

Kate’s talk is entitled The Future of Shopping.

What’s the next digital develpment? Should I install VR in my stores? How will customers’ demands change in the next 5 years? Will stores even exist in 5 years? So many questions! The constant preoccupation with what’s next is often detrimental to many B2C businesses. It is important to understand how consumer behaviour is likely to change but no business can change its offering every few years. This is why coming back to basics and understanding the fundamentals of every human being is the only strategy that B2C businesses should be applying to achieve a long-term success. In this session consumer psychologist Kate Nightingale will explore the basics of what makes people buy, a number of future trends in consumer behaviour and what does it all mean for future business and creative decisions.
